The plainest thing we make and the one that sells out first. Mul cotton, round neck, side slits, no trim of any kind. If you are buying handloom for the first time, start here.

Fabric & care

Mul — from the Persian malmal — is the fine, loosely woven cotton that gave the word muslin to English. Ours is woven in Nadia district at around 100 counts, fine enough to read through. It arrives slightly stiff from the sizing and softens over the first month of wear until it feels like it has always belonged to you. This is the cloth we recommend to anyone buying handloom for the first time.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Line dry. It will crease; that is the point.
